Happy New Year!

The holiday season is usually a time to get together. But this year, everything was different. No one could have imagined the 2020 we experienced. While we cannot choose when hardship comes, we can choose how we respond  – and we’ve seen Canadians rise to many challenges in remarkable ways this past year. On the very front line are the health and essential workers, who have kept our society going; we owe them an immeasurable debt of gratitude.

The long months of pandemic have forced us to look beyond ourselves, and to work together hand in hand, but we are not yet out of the woods. Now, more than ever, we must stay vigilant, continue to look out for each other, and remain patient. Thanks to science and the arrival of vaccines, there is now a light shining at the end of the tunnel.

While normal may never fully return, soon we will meet again. Take care of yourself and of your family. Keep those who are isolated top of mind and lend a hand when and where it is safe to do so.
